Except for ADS Comedic Evenings, all of our ‘Encounters’ and ‘Retreats’ include an Embedded Meditative Practice [EMP] component: This component is a simple therapeutic tool that has been developed by and is exclusive to ADS. Unlike other approaches, ADS embeds the meditative practice within the course delivery itself in order to aid the ‘Deep Dive’ specifically into the explored course content.
The fundamental purpose and rationale of all ADS EMP is to allow you access to a more authentic self through a heightened state of relaxation and / or hypnotic trance. The latter is, by the way, a completely natural state that occurs every 90 minutes bio – rhythmically.
The function of our EMP techniques is to facilitate these naturally occurring states outside of biologically determined time frames. Being in such states temporarily frees the self from the distractions of every day events, concerns and self constructed ‘Issues of Being’ and thereby allows the ‘Explorer of Being’ to more authentically answer the specific ‘Being Related’ questions posed during the EMP.
The trick is to try and not consciously force answers the questions posed during the EMP: During the EMP, your conscious mind is liaising with your unconscious mind! … And it will let you know when you are good and ready to receive its infinite wisdom! :))Our EMP techniques harshness the power of breath and stillness and range from mindful focus to an adapted form of Yin Yoga depending on the duration and focus of the particular ‘Encounter’ or ‘Retreat’.
ADS ‘Encounters’ are delivered via Zoom [not Live Venue] and therefore the utilised EMP will not require moving out of your chair. Such EMP’s will simply encourage Mindful Focus via ‘Eyes Closed’ guided relaxation and breathing focus: Whereas ADS ‘Retreats’ take place within a Live Venue and thereby allow for EMP involving relocation and movement such as an adapted form of Yin Yoga. Our ‘Retreats’ that are longer in duration also better lend themselves to a broader range of EMP’s such as: Visualisation; Guided Hypnosis; Meditation; Breath Work: Where appropriate, these and Yin Yoga EMP’s are presented ‘Face – to – Face’ by suitably qualified, specialist meditative practitioners.
Should these EMP’s initially come across as too ‘Out There’ for you, please don’t be put off by this. Simply not consciously knowing what they are and what they might bring up for you can fuel resistance to their therapeutic power. Ultimately, they either resonate with you or they do not and you are either open to trying them or you are not.
Know that there is always utility in your ‘Intuitive Knowing’ of what is right for you at any given time and of course this can always change! There really is no judgement involved and you are encouraged to only engage in that which intuitively makes sense to you!
Also be aware that more accessible alternatives will be offered where possible and you can of course simply choose to sit out the EMP offered during any of our ‘Encounters’ and ‘Retreats’ should you so wish!… However, also remember, that there is therapeutic power in genuinely trying something that is initially out of your comfort zone! … the universe, that you are of course an integral part of, expands more directly when you do so! :))
‘Being Exercises’ are included within all our ‘Encounters’ and ‘Retreats’ in order to facilitate reflective interactions between the attending ‘Explorers of Being’, the ADS Team and, ultimately, the universe itself: ‘Being Exercises’ are always directly linked to the ‘Being Topic’ being collaboratively explored and are intended to be both a meaningful and crucially fun and humorous means of metaphorically ‘Diving the Depths of Being’ i.e. exploring that which lies beneath the cultural consensus that is so distorted by the pernicious influence of the internet, social media and most recently AI on our ‘Human Consciousness’. Both Embedded Meditative Practice [EMP] and ‘Being Exercises’ aim to enable ‘Explorers of Being’ to get in touch with personally resonating insights. However, the key feature of our ‘Being Exercises’, that is distinct from EMP, is the use of the interactional ‘Group Dynamics’. EMP allows you to be more receptive to the wisdom of your unconscious mind which you can then share with your ‘Fellow Explorers’, whereas ‘Being Exercises’ allow you to be more receptive to the wisdom of your ‘Fellow Explorers’ which you can then share with your unconscious mind! … assuming the 4 way communication dynamics are working well of course! :))

Traditionally, the classic social media platforms have yielded trivial and banal content arguably not worthy of engagement by the serious ‘Explorer of Being’. However, it should be remembered that literally every thing contributes, either directly or indirectly, to the expansion of the universe even if it serves as a reminder or trigger to respond more positively! There is nothing inherently wrong with the trivial and banal especially if one is able to extract the profound implications and humour that lurk within the context! So perhaps, one should not dismiss social media so emphatically! … After all, in this modern digital world, arguably requiring very little independent thought, does it actually matter that social media has produced generations of kids with the attention span of the average fruit fly? … they still make good consumers! :))
It is also true that the social media platforms have proliferated and evolved considerably over the last couple of decades… In partial response to this ADS has decided to tentatively dip it’s little toe into the ‘Digital Darkness’ despite it still being, in the most part, the antithesis of ‘True Being’! ADS, ‘The Entity’ has decided to brighten the darkness with distinctively creative content in a bid to attract potential ‘Explorers of Being’ into the fold and to encourage them to choose to ‘Collaboratively Explore’ with us via the crucial first step of signing up to the ‘The ADS Explorer Times’!
